Introduction to the Tweaks menu

iPodWizard can, in addition to altering the theme of your iPod, can add some small features and change settings embedded in the firmware.
The following iPods can be altered with the Tweak menu: 12345CMN (see the iPod Generation article).

Loading The Menu

1. Open up iPodWizard - see Getting Started.
2. Select Tweaks on the right-hand side of the program. It is located here:
   
   
   
3. The tweaks menu should appear. It will look like this:
   

Feature Explanations

Voltage

Shows at the number of hundredths of volts coming from the battery. Only cosmetic changes, no harm to iPod.

CPU Usage

It shows the status and usage of the processor of your iPod.

Deep Sleep

Deep Sleep makes the iPod always completely shut down, instead of the usual standby. This deep sleep usually occurs after 36 hours of standby under normal conditions.
Will drain your battery quicker (as the firmware has to re-load on each wake up).

Disable Cache

Disabling the Cache increases performance but drains battery.
Long term use will harm your hard drive, and eventually leading to hard drive failure.

No Deep Sleep

No Deep Sleep, disables the deep sleep function on the iPod.

European iPods Volume Uncapper

For legal reasons, Apple have fitted a volume cap on European iPods. A feature in iPW can remove the cap.
The following iPods can be altered with this tweak: 12345CMN

If your iPod has not been uncapped you will see this.


Once you have Uncapped your iPod, the button will look like this. Also if you plug in your iPod and this button is already like this your iPod is already uncapped.
