Apple Remote Control, iPod Video (5G) and RockBox

I need some help/information.

I want to buy that remote control:



Also I want to put Rockbox on my iPod

Here are the questions:
1. - Will this remote work solely with the iPod. I mean go out on the street with the iPod in my pocket and the remote in my hand. Will it work?
2. - After installing rockbox will the remote still work (or any other wireless remote)?
3. - Do you put anything on the bottom of the iPod for that remote?
4. - I love that Apple remote :love: but anyway any other remotes you can recommend. Will buy from Ebay. The other I saw has this thing that you put on the bottom of the iPod.

The remote only works when the ipod is docked in the Universal iPod Dock.

So I guess I'll have to buy from these, that consists of 2 parts: the remote and the thing that you plug under your iPod. But I read somewhere that the iPod has built-in Infra Red - then why do you plug that thing ???

Any other suggestions?
