HP DETECT, HP FAIL, help!
Well one of my 4G 20Gg iPods is pretty screwed up. I was trouble shooting and did the HP detect (headphone detect) it now says:

HPDETECT
HP FAIL

This is frozen on the screen, no matter what I do, it won't go away.

Well, did you have your headphones in? If you did, you could try running the test again to make sure, then getting it replaced.

To fix the frozen screen, are you able to do a reset (hold Menu + Center for a few moments)?

No it is completely locked up, i've pretty much tried everything that is doable at this stage, nothing does anything, the backlight won't even come on.

Strange solution, but at least it worked Tongue
I wouldn't go around doing that all of the time, though.

Problem solved, Closed.
