Ipod stuck at the apple logo and won't boot.
Alright I thought my old 5G ipod was broken well the scroll wheel. I figured out the cable was messed up and replaced it. I used to be able to boot up. But now all the ipod does is sit at the Apple logo and doesn't do anything. Is this a sign that my HDD is messed up? I would really like to get this thing working.

you have to get it into disk mode, then restore it.

Apple>Disk Mode

just try and press (and keep pressed) the center and play buttons when the screen flashes.

try it a few times, and it will.

if it doesn't, keep it cool (in your fridge), and let the battery run out. then, connect to computer and try to restore.

Ipod stuck at the apple logo and won't boot.
It took me about an hour of trying to get it into disk mode but I finally did. I have never had so much trouble getting an ipod into disk mode. Thanks for the advice!
