iPod theme previewer for 5g 1.2's
UPDATE: v0.4 RELEASED!!!

Well, its kind of a rushed release, but the essential framework is there for me to add to.

This program allows you to preview themes for the iPod 5g with firmware v1.2.
To use:
Click browse to find the folder containing your theme.
Click load.
Click refresh.
In the preview window, your theme should load and show 0% battery.
To change battery, slide the slider and click load again.
To change screen, use the drop down menu. Only those listed below work.
To change progress, slide the slider. Due to delphi's bad masking, this function donest quite work right.

You can view your theme as you edit it. Simply save the graphic, and click refresh to se it update.

Pictures MUST be named conventionally e.g. pic365.bmp.

Some screens have now been implemented:
Main Menu
Playback
Do not disconnect

Others will be added shortly.

Any bugs please post here.
Any suggestions please post here.

This is for testing purposes only. Please do not critisize the fact that the program seems incomplete.

I have already considered the following:
Implement the other screens
Add a 'preview font' option
Increase the increments of the battery from 10 to 20, allowing the 5% levels to be shown.

Any other suggestions welcome!
Please let me know which screens you want implementing first, and which you care last about. A list can be found in the drop-down box.

Anyone who has a better suggestion for the font PLEASE say so!!!

Changelog:
v0.1
Allows choice of working directory
Allow preview of main screen
Battery level in increments of 10%

v0.2
Allows preview of DND and playback
Progress of song selectable in 10% increment (NB Masking poor, function incorrect)

v0.3
Choose font
Small stability fix

v0.4
Bug Fixes
GUI modification

Not Sure if this is a Double Post or not... But its a update since I used the program...

What i did....
I tried 2 1.2 themes (Simple Gloss & Black and Green theme)

What Works...
Battery indicator and the 1st load of the theme (top title bar)

Everything else dont seem to work..
I try to change the views and they dont change in the preview screen on the top right.

Side note... The Preview in window button doesnt seem to work, I think thats the biggest problem...

This is a start, Good luck with this.

Please read the first post. It explains that the views are not complete and so are inaccessible in this build.

Alright, sense I guess their is only one person beta testing this for you then I guess I can step up and help some too man. I made my own theme which has yet to be converted to 1.2 friendly but if it is required to do so then I will. So far my IPod has no modding done to it, mostly because I do not want to use the temporarily method, but it is updated to 1.2 current. I'll get started on helping as soon as possible but I got to work tomorrow and go to a dance so I won't be free tomorrow but maybe monday =^).

Thanks darkownage! I've emailed a supermod here with details, but notihing has come back yet about whether they will be supporting my program here.

And thanks bridgep0rt, its nice to have some support Smile

Details of v0.3 are kind of thin and far between, because I don't know what to do next! I can work on the other screens, I plan to hopefully build in 1.2 conversion with the help of thw person who made the 1.2 converter, and maybe support for the other firmwares.
Next Im thinking about font loading, but Im going to need to read up a little on how to do that.
I am open to suggestions on how I can improve.
Im also going to try and fix the progress slider as well. I know it kind of works, but with a slider that isnt the same all the way across, it kinda looks weird.

So, what screens and features do people want implementing next?

Im totally on board for being a beta tester.

I'd love to see font and strings loaded. Obvisouly. And maybe see if you or soemone on IPW can make a gui editor for IPW. So you can edit and preview at the same time. Sounds like a massive ammount of work though.

Thanks!
I like your suggestion about integration with iPW, but 2 things:
1) My Ipod is broken Sad It wants to restore, but 'invalid ipod service version" etc. So I cant work on this til then
2) This particular program is coded in delphi, since I havent much training in C++, and thats what iPW source code is in. Shame though. Might see if I can turn iPW source into a delphi compatible library and make my own version for real-time editing or something. Not a rival to iPW, an addition if you will.
String editor = easy!
Font preview in delphi: Mega hard!!!
