Market research firm Visiongain believes Apple will launch an iPhone and become a mobile virtual network operator by the end of 2007.

“Apple acknowledges the threat mobile handsets pose to portable MP3 players in the long term”, states Visiongain. “Apple will embrace mobile more fully and pose a greater threat to the mobile phone industry itself—as an MVNO challenging carriers and a cellphone brand challenging handset makers. Upcoming US MVNO Helio presents a good entry strategy for Apple’s iPhone, an own-brand Apple mobile phone that is likely to be launched by the company. Indeed, the release of which is both logical and inevitable".

As always, it's nothing concrete but another analyst jumping on the iPhone wagon must add some viability to the claim that Apple will enter the mobile phone market some time in the future... soon... maybe.

Well, I will be needing a new phone soon..... But for the UK'ers, I am thinking you might have to wait a while, Apple is. after all, an American company.

As long as apple doesnt try to make their own crappy service for it, Ill take a shot at it.

If they get it working with verizon, itll be perfect, they could work out something good with VCAST downloads!
