It doesn't go into the Rockbox firmware because you haven't put it on yet.

After you put on the .rockbox firmware, when you reboot your iPod Rockbox will boot. There are no links to it in the Apple firmware; Rockbox doesn't touch it.

Kreator666,
Great work on this installer. It worked like a charm for me. I found that modding the apple firmware deletes the Rockbox bootloader. But it's easy enough to run your installer again to re-store the bootloader. |

I'm having trouble... I downloaded the v4, and ran the installer, the non-linux one... I finished, I downloaded th latest rockbox thing, copied the rockbox folder to my ipod and the rockbox.ipod file too... I reboot and hold rewind, and it takes me back again to the apple firmware... what did I do wrong?

To get around this, use iPod Wizard's (1.2) direct edit mode (if that is what you are updating the firmware for). Thanks. |
