i am googling like hell and the very best i found was this forum.
i got the ipod at ebay. switched it on, saw the apple symbol, then the menu for half a second and then the apple symbol again. now i am trying with a friend who has a third generation ipod to install linux in my harddrive over his ipod, but this will only work if i can install the firmware manually, because otherwise i only get the third generation firmware on my second generation ipod harddrive... |

I've noticed that the download rate is very slow, and I will be able to provide a faster mirroring service... that is, if you want.

Can someone please state which firmwares are included in each updater pack because I installed the latest firmware for my iPod Photo and it's not letting me downgrade the firmware so I can re-update it. I know I need to downgrade with iPodWizard and then update with a previous firmware release, then update with the latest one... but I don't know what each updater includes for each iPod without downloading and installing each one on my computer. I guess someone who has them all installed would be able to look in the readme and just copy and paste the firmware version numbers for each pack. Then if that could be merged in to the original post on this thread someone can delete this reply. Many thanks.
