Hi folks
,I recently got a 30GB video iPod. I wanted to ask the battery life time(i.e: how long one cud run videos after a full charge cycle). P.S:Im converting my mpeg videos to mp4 using videora and the the video files are 20mb or so with 512 kbps video data rate. Does the battery stays longer if we use videos from ITunes music stores....was doubtful if they have some special coding to increase the battery time. One more question is, all my videos transferred thru iTunes goes in to Movies..is there a way by which we can move them to Music videos folder. I did try to change in, file option by pressing getinfo. to Music videos but to do for all files its so cumbersome....? Thanks in advance for ur suggestions.... Cheers ,Svanky |

The iTunes movies vs. the regular movies you have affect the battery life the same way. Most people buy the 5g for the videos. Unfortunatly you should have something to backup the power when you're not around the computer. I recently got myself a solar powered charger. It's kinda bulky but it helps.
For your last question...I'm not really sure but try selecting all the movies you want to change (ctrl + click) then try get info...if that doesn't work, i dunno. |

well of course, a video is millions of snap shots, compacted togther and running togther, its like uploading 30,000,000 photos. thats gonna take battery life to view, and hold them

You think it is worth the $100 to have a bigger, more expensive iPod with more capacity and batterly life, or will 2 hours serve me fine?

Well, do you plan on watching a video on the run for two hours between charges? It is all up to how you are going to use it, but personally I wouldn't spend the extra.

Aliii, battery life depends heavily on what bit-rate you are using (music and video), how much you skip songs/vieo playback, and whether you use the backlight often. Are you doing anything out of the ordinary with it?
