[1G Nano/1.0] Menu Icons 2.0 for iPod nano (with Patch!)
Menu Icons 2.0 for iPod nano!
(Previous version here )

ONLY FOR THE 2005-10-12 UPDATER!

It has been updated to feature menu icons for pretty much everything.

It required 100+ string edits using the Arbitrary Font Images technique.

DOWNLOAD: MenuIcons2-(2005-10-12).zip (72.1 KB)

Here are a few snapshots:

Main Menu
(background text is real)

Extras Menu

Settings Menu

READ THE README.txt IN THE ATTACHMENT FOR INSTRUCTIONS!

Questions answered in the README will be ignored.

This is a PATCH for the 2005-10-12 APPLE Updater for Windows!
If you want to make any changes (pictures, fonts, strings - whatever),
do so AFTER applying the patch. It will be just as easy to modify with
iPodWizard as a regular updater. You can extract the font and everything
you need from there.

Good luck and have fun!

*
You are allowed to use, edit, change, copy and
redistribute these icons in any way you want.
A link to the originals is appreciated.

PS. I will happily adapt this to the 5G Video iPod, if you send me one

Nice work!!!
All I have to do now is upload the firmware...
One question..if I brick my iPod Nano..is there a way to reflash it?

Also, it is possible to run UNMODIFIED firmware to reflash it back to normal just in case?

In that case download a new updater and restore your iPod, that will bring back factory settings.

So even if I brick it once, I can alway bring it back by reflashing it with another updater?

Ok here we go...I'm gonna try it..
Edit: Why is "UPDATE" button greyed out? I don't want to restore it because that'll erase all my songs. Or rather...how do I backup all my songs in iPod so I can just re-copy over it.

use the latest version of ipodwizard to update you sysinfo file!
what it does is, fool the updater into thinking your ipod needs an update!
