We all know about the Apple event to be held on the 12th but we are all pretty much in the dark on what product they are going to unveil. Well, it seems the BBC aren't...

Earlier today BBC 6 reportedly let slip of some information about the new iPod; "Apple is set to unveil a new video iPod at the BBC Television Centre in London on October the 12th,” and that the company is “expected to reveal details of the new MP3 and video player", maybe video bundles to be available from the company’s iTunes stores?

So it seems the iPod Video might actually materialise this time after years of speculation and waiting. Why the BBC though? Well, it stands to reason that Apple and the BBC have some cool deals going on, perhaps we could be seeing BBC content being distributed via the iTMS (iTunes Movie Store??) as the BBC have always been pretty forward thinking when it comes to content distribution. Who knows, I guess we'll all just have to keep our eyes and ears peeled open until the 12th.

I just saw this too, i wanna find out what time it was at etc. so i can listen to the online repeat to actually hear them saying it lol

also the artical thing is no longer on the bbc site, suspicious?

no way, that just looks like a webcam shot then sombody strecthed it. It is porbably how it will look thou!

That is awsome! perfect timing for me to lmisplace mine. Like the firs post suggest, i think that the BBC might have know becasue they might get some distribution. I just hope the movies can be avi.... if not i will be super mad becasue i don't know of a good avi to mov converter

Well, looks like Steve gave into the pressure, and BBC is gonna be in MAJOR trubble!

Maybe I should sell mine before everyone wants this new one!!

From what I've heard this new announcement has nothing to do with a new iPod. It is going to be a new powerbook. Which makes sense, they gotta keep people buying their computers so everyone doesn't just stop buying until the Intel switch.
