I think its dead
Hello,
Recently my ipod screen cracked so i bought a new one on ebay, got a tutorial about how to install it, installed it, put the ipod back together, but now when i turn it on a sad ipod comes on the screen. I can sometimes get it into disc mode but then when i plug it into my computer it doesn't appear in "My computer" or itunes, and after about two minutes of being plugged in it resets and goes back to the sad ipod screen. I have tried taking it appart and putting it back together to make sure its all connected right several times. Thanks, Any help would be great. Riley |

your problem just might be the fact that you bought it off ebay

well i dont really get a error thing, its just the sad ipod face (like my display picture) then when its in disc mode it looks normal, but resets randomly. I think ill take it to the apple store tho, cos it must be one of the connections or something. Thanks for the help.

I don't think the computer detects the iPod. That's what I understood, maybe I'm wrong. And why would the people at the iPod store laugh at you? You actually tried to replace a screen yourself. Not that many people would be able to do that. |

mine did that 2 they said it was a hardware problem as you would have learnt if you went to the website that the ipod provides under the sad face icon apple.com/ipod/support where they will tell you to take it to an apple store they'll give u a semi new one if ur warranty isnt voided b/c u opened it
