Brasso pod
I bought a can of Brasso for $2.63 at Wally World today and wanted to take some of the scratches off of the front of my iPod. I don't care about the back, since it's brushed. I'm wondering if a washcloth would work and how I should go about the whole procedure. Any pointers?

Brasso IS a metal polisher. But it DOES work on the ipod front. I use it whenever I get a scratch.

As far as using a washcloth, that depends if you mean you are gonna apply it with one or polish it? I apply it with just a papertowel, and I think a washcloth would work fine too. But for removing it I use one of two things. I have used some pads that came with a cd scratch repair kit and they worked fine. But what I think works even better is a microfiber cloth, like ones that they make for cleaning the lenses of sunglasses and glasses. You can remove the bulk of material with a paper towel or washcloth but use one of those things I mentioned above to polish it. I usually spend 5-10 minutes polishing mine with a microfiber cloth to buff all the little scratches out. In fact if I ever have just some minor scratches I can usually buff them out with just a microfiber cloth.

So in conclusion Brasso works great, but microfiber cloths are the icing on the cake.

try toothpaste, it sounds stupid. but try it. it works
Also i remembered back a couple years in school we used to use brasso on plastic, i havent tried it on my ipod. Also you may want to cover up the click wheel so no brasso can get inside.

I was planning on covering the click wheel with maybe some tape. I'll look around for one of those microfiber cloths. I might have one. I could always run back over to Wally World (god, I hate that place) and find one.
