Theme Conversion Program 1.1.1 -> 1.2 Finally!
Hello All,
I give it to you, the iPodWizard Theme Converter. It is a simple application built in VB6 designed to copy and convert a 1.1.1 Theme to the 1.2 Firmware. For now, the Nano is the only iPod supported. The original theme will remain untouched, and a new folder is created.

VERSION 1.2 IS OUT. A NEW UPDATE IS NOW AVAILABLE. PLEASE DOWNLOAD.
IF YOU'VE RECIEVED AN ERROR MESSAGE, DOWNLOAD VERSION 1.2

TO USE: It's very simple. Unzip the attached file, and place the application in the folder that contains the 1.1.1 Theme. Then Run the Program, and tell the program about your iPod. (You should have a iPod Nano with 1.1.1 Firmware Converting to 1.2) Check the 3 option boxes presented, and then Check the Box above the Convert Button. This ensures that you wish to convert the theme. Click Convert and wait until you see a Message across the bottom.

As of v1.2, there are no error messages written into the program. Errors are coded to be bypassed, so if you are missing a file, you will not be notified of it. I guarantee this fix will solve all problems. I've realized that some themes don't have all of the bitmaps available, so i've figured out a way around it.

Like I've said before, This is my first program, and I'm not perfect. Any bugs please report via PM to me. Comments always appreciated.

NOTE: I've said it already... the program only supports the Nano conversion 1.1.1< -> 1.2. BUT, if somebody would like to PM me with conversion lists, I could add it to the program. The only downside is that i do not have the ipod to ensure accuracy, but will do my best. PM me with the Conversion List, stating which iPod, which current firmware version, and what output version firmware the Conversion List is for. Give me a bit and I'll update it.

Thank you! This has been needed for quite some time. Just a quick question. What did you do about the images that changed sizes? (ex: Titlebar) Anyways, I haven't tried it out yet, but I'm assuming it's good, so good work!

Edit: Just used it, and it worked great! The only thing. I would really appreciate it if you told me (in the program) what three images have size changes. Thanks!

I really haven't programmed anything or made a program, but could you use midkays work from last time so it could work like this:
1.0 -> 1.1 -> 1.1.1 -> 1.2 (Or any other combination) Like X -> Y ( I used variables lol)
Rather than making 3 different conversion lists.

If it isn't possible it is good enough. Thanks

change the directory to C:\bitmaps Then extract the zip and run the program in there. but before you do, click the list view and make sure every single bitmap is there. from 000 - 257 . if one is missing you will get this error. if this doesnt work, post the link to the thread where the 1.1 theme is, and i will see what is wrong.

the corrections are always correct. there is no function with variables in the program, each conversion is a seperate command. so, every file is converted correctly, leaving no room for number mismatches. once again, make sure every single bitmap from number 000 - 257 is there. if its not, the program will see that its missing a file, and shutdown. give me a bit and i'll look into writing error messages and/or skips so if you are missing a file it doesn't crash the program.

actually, no he didnt. i used my conversion list and learned simple vb6 commands in a couple of hours. that is why the program is very basic. i am learning new things.. and expect error messages and more compatability in the near future. the only reason i prefer conversion lists is because they are definite, and i find easier to make. like i said, i have no problem adding to this program, in fact i really want to see what i am capable of... but i just need a little help. :tongue:

Well,

i tried new version, but i still have a problem.

it says i have some missing files. so i counted my files...

1.1 : 255 files. -> 1.1.1 converted : 233 files, but your converter says it needs 258 files....

what should i do?

yeah some of the themes have only 255 bitmaps in there... so how would i convert them without having any errors along the way?

the one im trying to use ist the Black Milky Tiger theme by paarty30. theres 257 images in there, and its still not converting.
