Theme Converting List 1.1.1 to 1.2
I recently purchased the Nike+ for my iPod and found out that you had to upgrade your Firmware to get the Nike+ to work. After upgrading from 1.1.1 to 1.2, I lost my Theme. So I spent a couple hours converting my old 1.1.1 Theme to the New 1.2 Firmware. I figured nobody else wants to go through that, so I created a Conversion Table to help. There are a couple of changes, and I hope I caught everything. To my knowledge, so far everything that has changed I've mentioned. Attached is the List, on the Left Column there is the pic number for the 1.1.1 Firmware and on the Right Column there is the pic number for the 1.2 Firmware. There are also new pics in the 1.2 Firmware that are not in the 1.1.1 Firmware, which will explain some of the 'holes' in the Conversion List.
NOTE: I have found 3 pics in the 1.2 Firmware that change sizes. They are as follows: 1.1.1 Firmware Number 106 - Reduces in size from 12 x 9 to 6 x 9 114 - Reduces in size from 17 x 17 to 8 x 17 175 - Grows in size from 176 x 17 to 176 x 18 To Change This, I used Photoshop and 'cut off' the white edges on pic106 and pic114. If you blow up the pic as big as photoshop can make it, you will see the pixels and what I am talking about. pic175 is the titlebar, and it got a pixel bigger. I also used Photoshop and used Image Size to change the pic one pixel in height. ALSO: In the New 1.2 Firmware, Apple seems to have doubled a battery pic. The old pic129 is the new pic124 AND pic127. Now if we could only get an iPodWizard genius in here to build a conversion program... ![]() EDIT: Sorry guys, but i noticed one very small error that i fixed. pic192 converts to pic183. That wasn't included on the first shot. Now I am positive every conversion is accounted for. ![]() Last edited by nickb611; 07-28-2006 at 06:46 PM.. |

Pherhaps Midkay would do it. They did it last time from 1.0 -> 1.1 -> 1.1.1 and any other combination. But it'd be nice if they would update it and it could be 1.0 -> 1.1 -> 1.1.1 -> 1.2 . That'd be pretty sweet. The link to the thread is here.
http://www.ipodwizard.net/showthread.php?t=6671 The orignal idea thread is here. http://www.ipodwizard.net/showthread.php?t=6607 But I hope someone can do this. EDIT: I just talked to Midkay, they said that they would give it a shot. They also said they'd reply on this thread. Make sure that you all thank him/her. Hi all,
Just stopping in to let you know that I'll probably give this a try sometime soon. There's no simple way to resize images from the commandline except with 3rdparty tools, so if I can somehow manage to get it working it'll require you to have another .exe in the directory (like ImageMagick - might work). Problem is that scaled images will look quite blurry so they'll need to be redone. The copying parts can be done, but depending on whether or not the image resizing can be done, you might have to redraw the scaled ones. If I can do this, I'll add it to the current converter. Thanks for the conversion list, nickb611. |

I was just trying to help out, I figured this might be able to spawn a commandline conversion program. Also, you could just include a note when somebody attempts to convert a 1.1.1 theme to 1.2. Create a folder inside the converted theme folder named 'edit' or something of the sort.
Something like: NOTE: pic106, pic114, and pic175 are required to be manually edited before applying them to iPodWizard. They will be converted to the correct 1.2 ID Number, but placed in the folder EDIT, which will be in the converted theme folder. For help with resizing, go to (insert thread url here). Actually, that sounds dumb. But you get my point. If they need help on resizing, I could start another thread and use screenshots from what i did. If thats the case, I have no problem doing that, Im just not sure which section of the forums to post it in. Anyhow, thanks for looking into the idea and I hope everything goes smoothly. |

Hi,
I'm having a problem with the progress bars in v1.2. In previous versions it took the last 5 pixels of the progress bar images and capped it at the end when shown on the ipod. It doesn't seem to be doing that in this version. I have a border around my pic147,148 and the right end isn't showing -- are they still 220 pixels wide? Does anyone know what's going on? Thanks. |
