The U2 Special Edition iPod is back and is now based on the 30GB (no 60GB version has been announced) 5G (video) iPod. Like the previous U2 Special Edition iPods it has a black front with red click wheel and features the bands signatures engraved on the back. The 5G U2 Special Edition iPod also features a black stainless steel back, unlike the silver colored finish seen on previous iPods.

The U2 Special Edition iPod comes with a coupon for an exclusive 30-minute video of music videos and band interviews of U2 dubbed as "your virtual backstage pass" from the iTMS (iTunes Music Store).

The U2 Special Edition iPod is priced at $329 in the US, £239 in the UK and €359 in the rest of Europe (well, those countries that use the €).

The weird thing was i was just on the Apple website when i found this, then went to engadget and it was there lol.

As for the iPod, I'm perfectly happy with my 60GB Black video so have no desire to want this new one.

I'd have to see what it looks like in real life but i think it would be weird not to have a silver back...I want one

its nice, but since my ipod is always in my iSkin i find no point for having the different color back, but it looks cool especially for U2 fans

I like the coloring, but I hate U2.... so if I got it, I would brush the back and remove the signatures.
