iPod vending machines to be installed in 180 Macy's stores
Federated Department Stores Inc., the parent company of Macy’s, has recently announced that it will be installing vending machines that will dispense iPods at 180 Macy’s stores across the U.S.

It is not known if Macy's are working with Zoom, the company responsible for vending machines found at several major U.S airports such as Atlanta and San Francisco.

Ha, we may be able to get free iPods as they are now in a dispenser! We can hack coke dispensers now, why not iPod dispensers?

I don't think they will be as crude as the traditional vending machines. From what I know they are slid on to a moving platform and then lifted to the dispensing area.

What about the security.
This is like the first vending machine ive heard off that sells $300 products.
Wouldnt it be easier to steal them.
The theifs wont need to point a gun at a person no more to take it. All he or she has to do is break it down and take all the iPod he or she can hold.
Or is there going to be a security guard on patrol 24/7?

Probs not. Also, they would have alarms if you break the glass, but just plug out the pulg from the back & smash the glass, whoa, that's $10,000 worth of stolen goods!!

I think that the glass would be stronger then the glass found in normal vending machines.

My opinion? Putting them in vending machines is a bad idea. I would prefer to buy something of that price at an actual store, where refunds etc are easy to get.

if they are putting them in a macy's, why don't they just sell them regularly? they'd probably make more money that way
