Coverflow and playlist wont work
I tried to create a playlist while

browsing albums in coverflow

As I normally would , I hit centre button to see

all songs available on an album , then hit and hold

centre button until chosen song name would

blink , indicating it was added to playlist , but now

it wont do that . I cant create a playlist this way

any longer

Now I have to browse by artist or album and add that way

to a playlist

Can anyone please advise me how to correct this ?

I ve tried resetting Ipod settings from Ipod , but that didnt work

I called Apple support and they were confused for sometime ,then

told me to reformat/reset my Ipod in Itunes , losing many many

gigs of music and hours of labour .

They also told me to 1st update to new firmware 2.0.3 , but

i told them I have a 2K7 160 gig ipod , the newest firmware for this

is 1.1.2 , and I did update to that with no luck

I dont have the itunes library on my pc to do a re sync

If i must do this , can someone please advise me how to

safely copy all my tunes and cover art onto my PC , into an

itunes library , so I can safely move all back to my Ipod with all cover

art etc intact ?

Can this be done ?

Cheers

Do you have all your music backed up on discs? If you have your music backed up on discs, I would restore the iPod, have it say sync only checked songs and videos, put music back in ipod. When done comletely putting music in your ipod, then click the enable disc mode, manually manage music, and uncheck open itunes when ipod is attached as well as uncheck the sync only checked songs and videos. It will then pop up a box asking you to apply these settings, click yes. You then can after you eject your iPod, which you will have to from now on, click the arrow next to your ipod name. Now next time you hook it in, iTunes will not pop up. Hook it back in, and download a program called Media Monkey. Media Minkey will help you will cover art and tags. It's pretty self expalinatory. You have to have iTunes on manually manage, you also can not undo it once you select that option without having to re-do your entire library or else Media Monkey won't work. Once you click that option also, you can not go back, but you can clear out your itunes library so everytime you out something new in, you just click and drag. After it syncs, you just delete it from your library. Keeps it simple.

Sorry i have been away for a while and could nt reply

until now

Sadly i dont keep the music on my pc once on the ipod

as im cheap for HDD space , now i pay for that

Is there a simple way to make an itunes library on my HDD

from my ipod , i mean copy all music ( covers included ) onto

my HDD , covers-tags etc all intact , then safely re sync

my ipod to copy all this info , cover art included , back to my

ipod ( i spent many hours just collecting covers alone ) as it

was before ?

Sorry if i seem daft

There is an option in iTunes to backup your library. You could try that, the only thing is I hope you have all your music on your HDD, otherwise it will only backup the music that is still remaining on your HDD and skip the ones that are not still on your computer.

Hey many thanks

So when i find this option it will save cover art and all ?

Then i can safely reset my ipod erasing all and then resync

with itunes and everything including covers -tags etc will come back

intact ?

If so do you think this can solve my original problem ?

Cheers
