Hey all, sorry for my first post being one asking for help but anyway.

I am using a 5.5G ipod with the ultimate background hack 1.2.1, and trying to get it to connect to my Alpine car radio. Without the hack, it will connect fine using an AUX cable (i think, its the cable that can plug straight into your ipod). Without the hack it usually connects in, then displays the Alpine logo, and i can control it from the radio system. With the hack it just changes to a tick, and says you can safely disconnect. I think it must have something to do with the modded firmware, but I don't know anything about how the firmware changes so can't do anything about it. Anyone got any ideas of how to fix it? Or had similar troubles and used a different firmware?

This sounds like a side affect of moving the pictures around in the firmware. These hacks do not change the functionality of the iPod at all. So if you can still control your iPod from your HU, I wouldn't worry about it. If you have functionality problems with the hacked firmware that would be very interesting.

I used many of the hacks with the peripheral iPod/HU adapter with no problems.

So whats happening is that when i attach my ipod to my radio, my ipod goes into "ok you can disconnect screen" but the radio just keeps 'searching' for the ipod. So the radio knows that something has been plugged in but seems unable to recognise or connect to the ipod.
based on your post, i did redo my hack a few times to see if it was something i had done during, but no success.

And so, basically my radio won't play my ipod with the hack on, so no controls or anything
