[5G, 5.5G] iTunes Travel Edition
Presenting: iTunes Travel Edition Based off of SteviPod's original idea. ![]() ![]() First and foremost, credits: bounci.rabbit.123, for the hacking theInvisible, for the default theme SteviPod, for the original idea Firestryke31. Surprising, but true. He helped me tremendously without ever knowing it. It was he who discovered that the four bytes preceding each position value controls the reference point from which the value is referred to. Without this knowledge, I would have never been able to position the shuffle/repeat icons properly. It took me an hour before I remembered his tip. So he deserves credit as well. Download available at The Bouncing Rabbit. Features are pretty clear so I won't go into explanations for them all. This hack was built almost exactly as SteviPod envisioned. One thing that I do want to point out, however, is smooth menu transitions. This took quite awhie to do, but the result is pretty beautiful. Known bugs: 1. After viewing the clock and photos menus, the date will disappear from the bottom corner. Time will also disappear but unlike the date it will return after a few seconds. 2. Clock menu has a tad of overlap with text if it is long enough (i.e. Washington, D.C will overlap with right aligned text slightly). 3. Due to the nature of this hack, with the reduced size menus, the calendar and the photo library are slightly cropped on either side. There's really nothing I can do about this and I apologize. However, the crop is not significant; you can still make out most of the picture/tile. 4. Text does not appear on Volume Limit screen because the background is black and the text refuses to change color. Still working on this. Installation: 1. Download the firmware and unzip the file. 2. Load the firmware in iPodWizard. 3. The main menu has a white iPod as the default Now Playing icon. If you would like to use a black iPod as the default icon, load the included picture into picture index 143 (ID 22200). 4. Click 'Write to iPod'. 5. Wait for iPodWizard to finish writing firmware, then click 'Eject' to eject the iPod. 6. It is safe to unplug the iPod; HOWEVER, if you are new to iPod hacking, I strongly recommend you leave the iPod plugged in until it has fully rebooted before you eject the iPod again. 7. Enjoy! Cheers. bounci.rabbit.123 and team. UPDATE: First set of bug fixes have been released. This zip file fixes podcast now playing screens, volume icon misplacement, and about screen. Lock icon still pending. UPDATE 2: First set of bug fixes had a major problem so I'm releasing another one. This one fixes the lock icon, NP, black bars on NP, volume icons, and about screen. Put it on my ipod and it looks great.
The only thing I didn't like was how close the time is to the date, but thats really small. lol...I wonder if there will actually be any themes... |
