NEED HELP, new ipod;itunes keeps closing

just ordered an ipod online

im not sure from where

but it was out of box

when connected to the computer, and only with this ipod, itunes closes

windows searches for reason for shutting down (vista)

i think the firmware is ****ed but i dont see why that would close itunes

can anyone tell me how i can restore this ipod without using itunes?

or tell me how to get it to not close itunes?

itunes is up to date as of today

i but i got it without the box

and thus the reciept

i have another ipod

i was wondering can i copy and paste the folders (minus the music)

and replace the folders of the broken ipod?

will that work

or can i use ipod wizard to upload an old firmware version

just something so it will recognize it so it doesnt close itunes

and i can update it with that?

are you sure its not a fake ipod because there hass been a lot of fake ipod lately (google it) and it might have a coruppted hard drive (u nerver know)

and have never had a problem one of you ipod geniuses couldnt figure out
